How to Get Counseling Services

If you would like to explore whether counseling is right for you, the first step is to call during business hours:

  • Fall and Spring appointments are available M-Thu 8:00 - 5:00 PM and Fridays 9:00 - 4:30
  • Summer appointments are from M-Thu 7:30-3:00 and Fridays 8:30-2:30
  • An urgent care counselor is available for urgent issues between 8:00 - 5:30 M-Thu and 9:00 - 4:30 on Fridays


If you are in immediate crisis, please call 911 or the Suicide Hotline at 1-800-273-TALK (8255).


Privacy and confidentiality are fundamental rights to all who use our services. At CAPS your right to privacy is respected. No information about you is released to anyone (except as required by law,) and that no information appears in any other departmental or university records without your written consent.  Click here to access the SHCS Notice of Privacy Form.

Comments about your experience at Student Health & Counseling Services are always welcome. All comments are confidential and are sent to the Executive Director of Student Health & Counseling Services. Complete a Tell Us About Us form.

For medical or psychiatric emergencies, please call 9-1-1 or go to the nearest hospital.
