Demos & Workshops

  • Cooking Demonstrations

    Cooking Demonstrations are a great way to learn about healthier recipes to make in college. Students can register for a cooking demo by calling the Health & Wellness Promotion office at 916-287-5422 during business hours.

     

  • Stress Workshops

    Stress Workshops are hosted by Student Health & Counseling Services' Active Minds program. In these workshops, students will learn strategies to manage stress and gain skills to help get through the semester.

  • Alcohol Education Seminars (CHOICES)

    Choices

    To enroll in CHOICES, please call Student Health & Counseling Services, Health & Wellness Promotion at (916) 278-5422.
    To schedule an Alcohol/Drug Assessment students will need to call (916) 278-6461 or visit Student Health and Counseling Services Primary Care Desk (second floor of the WELL). You will need to arrive 15 minutes early to the scheduled seminars.

    CHOICES is an educational course focusing on harm reduction and prevention of alcohol abuse. The CHOICES course is peer-facilitated. The CHOICES program is presented in a non-confrontational manner that enables students to make their own decisions about alcohol consumption. *Students attending CHOICES are encouraged to complete the online e-CHUG assessment prior to class and bring their certificate of competition with them.   • Marijuana Education Seminars (WEED IT OUT)

    WEED IT OUT is an educational course focusing on harm reduction and prevention of marijuana abuse.  The WEED IT OUT course is peer facilitated. The WEED IT OUT program is presented in a non-confrontational manner that enables students to make their own decisions about marijuana consumption.

     

    *Students attending WEED IT OUT are encouraged to complete the online e-TOKE assessment prior to class and bring their certificate of competition with them. Click here for e-TOKE instructions.
